Who I am

Data Insights North West is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact me at enquiries@datainsightsnorthwest.co.uk. This is a service-area business, so I do not publish a postal address.

What I collect

The only personal data I collect through this website is what you choose to type into the contact form: your name, your email address, your company name if you give one, the service you selected, and your message.

How the contact form works

The form is submitted to Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service, which forwards your enquiry to my email inbox. My business email is provided by Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards messages to a Microsoft Outlook mailbox.

Why I use your data, and my lawful basis

I use the information you provide to reply to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver the agreed work. My lawful basis for replying to an enquiry is legitimate interests — responding to people who have asked me a question. Where work is agreed, my lawful basis is contract.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. That is why there is no cookie banner — there is nothing saved locally that would require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

The site does use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It is a privacy-first, cookieless service: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not follow you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. It reports aggregate figures only — page views, referring sites, countries, browsers and device types — never individual people.

To produce those aggregates, Cloudflare processes technical request data including your IP address. It is not used to identify or fingerprint you, and I never see it. My lawful basis for this processing is legitimate interests: understanding whether the website is useful and worth maintaining. If you would rather not be counted, any content blocker that blocks static.cloudflareinsights.com will stop it, and the site will work exactly as normal.

There is no advertising, no remarketing, no social media tracking pixels and no third-party trackers of any other kind. If that ever changes, this notice will be updated first.

Hosting

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages and served through Cloudflare. Both providers process technical connection data, such as your IP address, in their own server logs for security and delivery purposes.

Your data during a project

If you become a client, any data you share with me for the work is treated as strictly confidential. It is used only for the agreed work, is not shared with third parties without your consent, and is returned or securely deleted on request or at the end of the engagement.

How long I keep data

Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any resulting work, plus any period I am required to keep records for tax and accounting purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, have it corrected, have it erased, restrict or object to how it's used, and ask for it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email enquiries@datainsightsnorthwest.co.uk.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how your data has been handled.

What I don't do

I do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling, I do not send marketing emails, and I do not sell your data.
