About

A data analyst, not an agency.

Data Insights North West is run by me, Aaron Chadburn, based in Merseyside. I work with businesses across the North West, and remotely UK-wide, who need their reporting sorted but don't have — and don't need — an in-house analyst.

Who this is for

Smaller teams whose reporting has outgrown a spreadsheet.

You don't need a full-time analyst on the payroll to get reporting that works properly. Most of the businesses I work with are exactly this size — busy, capable people who'd rather the numbers just turned up correct than spend their week rebuilding them.

No in-house analyst

Someone needs to own the reporting, but it doesn't have to be a full-time hire. I fill that gap as much or as little as you need.

Data scattered across systems

Spreadsheets, exports, a CRM, a bank statement — the raw material is usually there. It just isn't joined up yet.

Reporting that eats real time

If a report gets rebuilt by hand every week or month, that's time that should be going somewhere else in the business.

How I work

Audit, build, automate, support.

The same shape whether it's a single Excel report or an ongoing Power BI dashboard — you always know what happens next.

Step 1

Audit

I map your data, your sources and the actual question you need answered — and agree what "done" looks like before anything is built.

Step 2

Build

I build the report, model or analysis, checking the numbers reconcile as I go so the output can be trusted from day one.

Step 3

Automate

Where it's recurring, I connect the sources once and set it to refresh and deliver itself — no manual rebuild.

Step 4

Support

I stay on hand to adapt and extend it as your data and questions change.

What's different about the work

Built to be trusted, not just delivered.

A report is only useful if the numbers hold up and someone other than me can pick it up later. Both of those are designed in from the start.

Numbers that reconcile

Totals tie, sub-categories add up to the whole, and figures agree across every view of the same report. If it doesn't reconcile, it isn't finished.

Documented, not in one head

Formulas, sources and logic are written down as the report is built, so it can be picked up by anyone — not just remembered by the person who made it.

Plain-English explanations

No jargon standing in for an answer. If a figure needs explaining, it gets explained in the terms you use in the business.

Fixed prices

Projects are quoted as a single agreed price, so there's no hourly meter running in the background and no surprises on the invoice.

How I handle your data

Treated as confidential, always.

Your data is used only for the work agreed with you, and handled in line with UK GDPR. It is not shared with third parties without your consent.

At the end of a project, or whenever you ask, your data is returned or securely deleted — whichever you prefer. Nothing is kept longer than it's needed for the work in hand. Full detail is in the privacy notice.

What it costs

Fixed price for projects, simple monthly tiers for upkeep.

The first conversation and a look at your data cost nothing, whichever way it goes.
